Type one of the following in the box and press Enter or click “OK. You’ll see a list of the programs configured to start up when you sign in. If you don’t see the Startup option in your Settings app, you haven’t installed the update yet. This feature was added in Windows 10’s April 2018 Update.

In general, you’ll want to put shortcuts in this folder, not EXE files. Programs that are put in these folders will launch when the PC is started.
